Rachel Luthringer, New Years 2010
We had an absolutely wonderful stay.  It was very convenient to have everything available at the condo for preparing food since we prepared most of our meals.  The location was perfect; we had easy access to the State Park and beach.  My husband did some windsurfing at the Sate Park bay side.  The weather was chilly at night but very bearable.  Sunsets at the beach are amazing!

Elizabeth Rust,  October 2009
It was soooo fantastic!  We were there for such a short period of time that we mostly relaxed on the beach.  Didn't try crabbing this trip...we will do that in the spring/summer!  The dogs had an absolute blast...they were so tired on the ride home.  Slept the whole way.

The condo was fine and plenty of room to spare!  Cooking fresh seafood in the kitchen was my favorite part...very impressed with the cookware available to me!

Thanks again for being such a dream to work with--we will definitely be back!

Rebecca Givens Boone, April/May 2009
We enjoyed the stay at the Cape and especially at Sea Breeze!    I will definitely keep that particular condo on the list for future rentals.

The wedding was all that we could have hoped for -- perfect weather, perfect accommodations at the clubhouse and all the people who were staying at the Cape were so nice!

Thank you for your hospitality and you can bet we will be back soon.

Anne Stoval, April 2009

We had a great time & loved the Cape!  The dogs had a blast.  Everybody there had a dog it seems.  No problems, no hassle.  Thinking about going back next October.  Is there a dog friendly, beach front available?  Somebody had a wedding Saturday night on the beach and they were all so friendly.  It was neat.

We ate lunch at Coneheads a lot and a couple of dinners, great family, good food.  Other than that we went to the Grill in Apalachicola most nights because we love that Founder and Captains Platter.

Very nice trip, great weather too.  We'll stay in touch and let us know about the fall!

Teresa Husted, April 2009

Thanks!  We did have a wonderful time and yes, the deposit refund check arrived--that was so quick!  We will be sure the spread the word about what a nice place Barrier Dunes is!

Judy Bateman, February / March 2009
The condo is very easy to relax in and comfortable to live in.  The location was perfect!  We walked the beach every day, picnicked in the park and at the lighthouse, rode our bikes several times in the park and on the bike trail, ate shrimp from the Piggly Wiggly several times and had to return 3 times to the Chocolate Company in Apalachicola.  The setting is just what we like.  Next time I'll bring a mat and join the exercise class.  Thanks for everything!

Pam Young, January 2009

We didn't want to leave.  We loved it.  And Lars (German Shepherd) really enjoyed himself.  I will tell my sister about her place...she and her husband have 2 little dogs and they would have a  ball there.

It felt like home there and the bed was so comfortable.  Almost didn't want to get out of it!

Safe trip home and back to the real world for us.  Very nice distraction.  We needed it.  Thanks!

Monica and Dave Arnolde, December/January 2009

We had such a wonderful time!  The weather was much better than back home and it was so relaxing!  The dogs loved the walks and I learned my "American Staff" hates water and could care less about the beach and love walking on the property where he has shrubbery. My 6m pit pup enjoyed everything about the beach and water including picking up seashells along the way , but he didn't t care for the property walks.  I never laughed so much with them and my sore calves!  :-)

We loved the fact that is was some peaceful...no cell phones ringing, listening to the ocean, sitting and more sitting, sleeping....wonderful!  Everyone was so friendly and with all the dogs everything, including the beach, was so clean!

I love the unit.  All the amenities were just perfect.  Everything we needed. I was very thankful for all the cookware (we cooked a lot due to the food issues we have) and the gates!  No dogs escaping or pups unwatched!

I was really sad leaving.  Wrote a few suggestions in the visitors book.  Loved the guest information book...it really helped.  We left a few brochures in there from places we visited.

Great place for "healing".  Thank you for everything!

Lori Law, November 2008

We had a wonderful time there and we absolutely will be coming back.  I loved Apalach, the restaurants and the shopping.  We had a great massage in Port St. Joe.  His name is David Oakley at the Donamelia salon.  Next time we go I want to go fishing and do the horseback riding on the beach.  I also adopted a dog from the Humane Society while I was there and she's been great!  Four months old, part Lab, part Catahoula and my Golden loves her.  We loved the shopping up there too.  We were surprised.  The people were wonderful, so nice everywhere we went.  Anyway, thank you so much!

Danny & Maura Walker (and Blue & Gabby), September 2008

This was a great vacation.  I'm not sure if it was because of the sueason, but at time it was like we were the only people on the beach (which we like).  So that was great for the dogs who could run and swim as they pleased.  I'm sure it was the best vacation they had so far.  We will definitely be back.  Thanks again.

Robin Holley and family, September 2008

The trip was wonderful.  Thank you again.  We had great weather and did a lot of nothing.  Every day was split between the beach and the pool and back and forth.  We went to 3 restaurants and am drawing a blank on my favorite one.  It was just inside of Port St. Joe and looked out on the water.  (Note from Wendy:  I think they are talking about Sunset Coastal Grill--great views and great food!)  As I mentioned (on the phone), the boat ride was really exciting.  Seeing the dolphins swimming and playing around us was unreal.  I'm attaching some pictures of everyone playing on the beach and a few of the dolphins.

Thanks again for everything and I am definitely saving all your information for a future trip!

We had a great time Wendy.  Thanks for making it so easy to have some fun.  Thanks again and I'm sure we will be contacting you again next year to rent one of your units!

Rick & Jean Rowan,  August 2008

Eduardo Alvarez, July 2008 (South Florida)

Thanks again for accommodating us at the last minute.  We hadn't planned to go to the Cape but we're glad we did.  Patty and I both had a wonderful time there.  Patty traditionally likes to spend the Labor Day weekend in Key West but I talked her into going to the Panhandle instead.  We'll stay longer the next time we come.

We met Donna on the way out.  That was great.  She's from South FLA too.  She told us how much she loved the area and how happy she was to be there.

The Heiden Family,  June/July 2008

The Cape and The Cape Escape were more than we expected.  Truly, we were swepts away.  I had not imagined in all of my mind to feel so safe, so welcome to a community of which I had never been.  My family and I were double-taken at the sincerity throughout all guests we met and their seemingly intered nature in who we were and "oh, your dogs are so beautiful.'  We ALL lust loved our stay.  Our experience was heart-warming.  As we drove away, my daughter yelled from the backseat, 'Goodbye vacation house, see you later...'

We had an amazing evening when we were able to share with a great family we met on the beach.  Ryan built a fire in the sand to roast marshmallows and we soaked up 'together' time as a family, dogs included.  We were excited and very surprised to see how uncrowded the beach was.  Such a warm, cozy feeling.

All the amenities were so awesome and ever so appreciated.  Seahorse Water Safaris was a sheer BLAST---goodness!  A BLAST!! SUPER service too, they were great to us!

SO many great memories Wend.  As we were packing up to come back home we realized that our extra popsicles would not go with us, as they were never survive the heat, so we hit the beach and began to pass them all out.  My daughter was so eager to use her "nice manners and share."  She said, 'Mommy, some people may not have things like this so I think it would be a good idea to share...'  So sweet, melted my heart!

Thank you for being a part!  I'll send you pictures as soon as the busy work week ahead comes to a halt!

Your place is extraordinary!

Michelle Andreen, June 2008

Everything was wonderful.  You are so very helpful.  Thank you for your help and attention.

Rita Powell and Family, June 2008

We loved our place and enjoyed our stay.  The guest information notebook was VERY helpful.  My husband and son went deep sea fishing.  We found some seafood markets and restaurants.

Your place is beautiful and we hope to visit again next year!

Dick and Wanda Hurd, May 2008

It was all we expected!  Wanda and Frosty (our dog) had a very enjoyable time, as did I.  The beaches were being repaired (beach restoration), but they are stunning and having all the dogs around was most interesting.

We will certainly keep you in mind for future travel.  Thank you for all your help in getting it set up on short notice.

Julia & Ivan Espada, April 23 - May, 3, 2008 (Newlyweds :-)  )

Thank you for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful place!  It was definitely what we needed!  We got way too much sun the first day we were there because it as overcast outside and we didn't realize until that evening that we were burned!  Ivan went fishing almost every day that he was there.  He caught quite a few catfish, some sort of other fish with a black tip on it's fin and about 3 small sharks!  He only kept 1 fish and that was a 15 lb redfish!  We met a lot of nice people on the beach.

Our Great Dane, Spartan, had a wonderful time!  He was a little bit afraid of the ocean at first but by the last day he was getting a bit brave!  You would think a dog that size wouldn't be afraid of much but he's the biggest baby I've ever known.  He was actually quite the movie star around there.  Everywhere we went with him people would say "Oh, looks like a dog we saw on the beach this morning!"  He's a very handsome boy and very, very unique looking.  We only had 1 day of calm waters.  I think there was a storm out there some where, but that as OK with Ivan, he still went fishing everyday.

Once again, thank you so much and I look forward to contacting you again somewhere down the road so that we can come and visit again!

Missy Goodwin and Family - November 2007

Oh my goodness - we had a great, great time.  The weather was beautiful and we couldn't have had a better week.  We felt so safe with a gated community!  The beaches were spectacular and clean  and the shelling was so much fun.  We loved Indian Pass Raw Bar.  We loved Apalachicola.  We had so much fun watching your bonfires from our deck.

We will definitely be back and will send some pictures for your website!

Constance Houck - September 2007 (1st Guest)

I am SOOOO glad we stayed that extra day.  I can't believe the doggies are still tired.  We will return, we LOVED it.  For Christmas it's either Costa Rica or you.

I really liked the area.  I think ideal would be 2 houses--1 in the cool mountains and one on the warm, inviting sands in Gulf County.  The people there are so very nice and I love being able to go though life in flip flops and bathing suits.  Thank you so much for everything.
