We enjoyed staying at Water’s Edge – Barrier Dunes #177. The kitchen was well appointed. We cooked a full Thanksgiving meal and did not have to buy additional equipment/utensils, etc. We appreciated having the washer/dryer upstairs and there were plenty of linens and towels. The access to the beach was very good and the community of Barrier Dunes was very quiet, friendly and inviting.
The beach chairs and sand cart were very much appreciated. We donated a beach umbrella to the beach gear.
We were surprised to see an armadillo sniffing through the grass outside of our unit! The bird watching was good for this time of year. We saw a bald eagle and then later saw three American white pelicans (somewhat rare) as well as other typical shore birds. Of course, the sunsets were amazing – they always are at the Cape. A few porpoises were corralling fish just beyond the sand bar and provided quite a show.
It was great to get to the Cape during Thanksgiving and we appreciate the amenities offered by #177.
